Sometimes injuries happen in the martial arts world, whether it’s an intense training session, or a match in the ring. Unfortunately, Scott Valentine, our Welterweight finalist from Pretoria, has sustained an injury to his hamstring and won’t be able to compete in the South African final.
His replacement is the runner-up Brandin Fourie who will proudly represent in his stead. Brandin is an experienced 38 year old fighter with a background in boxing and K1 with over a hundred amateur fights to his name. He’s fought both standup and MMA, and trains 5 days a week at Tri-Dragons Gym. He has a big heart both in and out of the ring, and works with children who have ailments such as ADHD and speech impediments by training them and improving their motor skills and confidence.
Come and see this family man give it his all on the 15th of October at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg!
