It’s interesting that the fight world has started taking women more seriously over the last few years. Perhaps the fairer sex even has some advantages when it comes to learning martial arts? Consider that ego is often a barrier to learning when someone doesn’t want to put themselves into a vulnerable position. Also physical strength can hinder learning when a student uses power instead of body mechanics to accomplish a technique. If that same fighter tries the same thing on someone his own strength, then it won’t work. The ability to put aside ego and strength and concentrate on technique and body mechanics is a fast track way to learn, and women can sometimes achieve this better than men.
But… If someone can use body mechanics, have good technique, AND be strong and fit physically and mentally then you’ve got a real fighter on your hands, male or female! Which LFS fighter has the required skills to go to the top?
